Abstract

In the introductory part of the paper, the author gives scientific definitions of the notions of intelligence and intelligence service. The author will use the following methods: analytical method, descriptor method and content analysis method. The author further defines the terms "intelligence discipline" and "intelligence component" and their types, forms through which they are manifested. In the final part of the paper, the author will analyze political intelligence and identify the key issues that an intelligence analyst needs to follow and investigate. The subject of research in this paper is political intelligence and its features. The purpose of the research is intelligence as a specialized activity of a nation state aimed at realizing the security of the state with its vital, national values and interests.
