Abstract

In the framework of this paper, the author determines the national security of the Republic
of Croatia through the analysis of the Strategy for National Security of the Republic of Croatia
from 2002 and 2017. She defines the components of national security such as: national interests,
security environment, security threats, risks and challenges for the strategic goals of the Republic
of Croatia, and the instruments and mechanisms for their achievement; she also determines the
foreign and security policy of Croatia, which is in line with the security policy of the European
Union and NATO.
In preparing the content of the paper, the author is using the method for content analysis and the
historical method. The content will be based on an analysis of foreign literature and the use of
electronic content.
The subject of research in this paper is the national security of the Republic of Croatia in modern
global conditions; the purpose of the research is the importance of the national and global security
in the scientific literature.
