Abstract

This paper presents a contribution to methodologies for functional classification-FC of street network. Namely a new bi-modal methodology has been proposed. It has been called bi-modal because the FC theme is passenger cars vs. heavy vehicles level of service, based on their average travel speed. 2D spread (periodical table) of 36 types of streets (cells) has been created and modeled. Each cell represents one street class and consists of several street class attributes. Methodology logic indicates: „Evaluation of street level of service is specific to vehicle mode and equivalent to the street function. Street function is followed by the appropriate form and uniform place and role in the street network”
