Abstract

The natural frequencies of a bundle of conductors that vibrates, are so densely distributed that practically a continuous resonant system has to be damped. In this paper is presented an algorithm for computation of the optimal number of spacer dampers necessary for decreasing of strains in conductors at a real span below the critical level. It provides possibilities for application on any number of conductors and sub-spans as well as placement of different dampers at a uniform span. Presented are the analytical results based on the various simulations made with the mathematical model for the bundle of two conductors equipped with spacer dampers defined by the first author of the paper.
