Abstract

The aim of investigations was to confirm the effect of Trichoderma harzianum on
Rhizoctonia solani and make a possibility for its usage in tobacco production. T. harzianum
was applied before and after sowing, with following applications (including a fungicide Top M
(0,1%) –in some variants). A variant when T. harzianum is applied after appearing of seedlings
gave unclear results. At additional treatment with Trichoderma after use of fungicide, had a
better result than fungicide alone. Furthermore, it has shown some synergistic effect with a
certain fungicide. The variant of T. harzianum applied before sowing of tobacco seed, with
treatment at certain intervals any time in the growing period gave the best results. It shows that a
bigger content and continuously presence of these biocontrol agent influences on an amendment
the root rot disease situation. The investigations have shown that T. harzianum has a positive
effect on reducing a disease intensity in tobacco seedlings caused by R. solani. So, it can be used
in biological control of this pathogen.
