Abstract

Quality management in both private and public sector organizations is of extreme importance in present times of rapid industrial and IT development worldwide. The successful application of the methodologies and different techniques in measuring quality in public sector
organizations is a key determinant in order to control the working organizations. Thus, the main goal of the research in this paper is analyzing the concept of quality management and the importance of its
application during the working processes in different types of public sector organizations with an accent on their application in public sector organizations in North Macedonia. There are many tools and techniques that can be applied in order to evaluate the quality of the
working processes in the public sector organizations. The methodological approach used during the research in this paper involves the historical method as well as content analysis of various governmental documents. As part of the overall process of public sector reforms in the country as a key requirement on a road to a full membership in the EU is the successful adoption and implementation of quality management in the public sector. Consequently, the country was under
constant pressure in order to adopt and implement some key quality management tools and techniques. The results of the research point to the fact that the country had already adopted and implemented quality standards in many public sector organizations. In doing that the role of the Ministry of Information Society and Administration was tremendous. In the future, there is still a great challenge for the country to further develop a dynamic environment and appropriate organizational culture as main conditions for further successful adoption and implementation of the quality standards in public sector organizations.
