Abstract

This paper provides an overview of different technologies for rapid prototyping and compares the
main features of the components derived from this technologies related to the surface roughness, dimensional
accuracy and mechanical properties. Also, several popular rapid tooling techniques are classified. The comparison
on these techniques is made based on tool life, tool development time and tool development cost.
