Abstract

Economic theory and empirical studies have shown that innovation is the key driver of economic growth and development. Innovations may increase productivity and quality of services and products, making the companies more competitive. Today innovations are a basic business strategy for most businesses and various researchers and academics. Innovation is being paid more and more attention and the key understanding of the development of society and companies lies precisely in innovation through the application of ICT technology. This paper highlights the significance of ICT and innovation, they are of great importance for the prosperity and economical development in the Republic of North Macedonia. The survey was conducted in the period when the Republic of North Macedonia is increasingly encouraging and supporting the innovation activity in the companies for achieving accelerated technological development, based on knowledge transfer, ICT, innovationsand R&D (research and development). Results from the empirical research implied to accepting certain hypothesis, which led to accepting the main hypothesis that ICT play important role in promoting innovations and innovation activities in the Republic of North Macedonia. The obtained results of this research can be a guide when creating the innovative strategy in the Republic of Macedonia.
