Abstract

Aircraft landing is one of the most important phases of flight in terms of the technical complexity and security. The classic instrument landing systems (ILS, MLS) have many limitations does not provide landing of aircraft in all weather conditions, unlike of those systems the new technology which is based on GPS (DGPS, WAAS, LAAS) provides an opportunity for a new approach to solving the problem of landing offering flexible solutions and application. The new satellite Earth Based Augmentation System-GBAS exceeds many shortcomings of ILS and allows landing along flexible 3D landing trajectories in all weather conditions. his fact requires the development of new algorithms for guidance in the phase of approach and landing that will provide stable and accurate tracking of curvilinear trajectories In this paper a mathematical model of the aircraft and the system for automatic guidance for landing using GPS – GBAS, is presented. Guidance algorithm consists of linear feedback controller and feedforward controller based on aircraft inverse dynamics. Simulations are made for landing guidance system when using the ILS and GBAS. For simulations the programming package MATLAB/SIMULINK is used. In this paper, comparative analysis of the results of the simulations and the discussion the advantages of GBAS in terms of ILS are represented.
