Abstract

In order to be developed a strategy for following the conditions with the drug criminal it is very important to have a reasoned knowledge about the criminal, and in what way is organized. It is indisputable that the big criminal organizations are moving the drug traffic. The revealing of their work is essential for closing the path of the drug, but on the other hand if the organizations are only participants at the free market, then the activities should be directed toward the market itself. Also, it is important to be said that the successful realization of certain number of operative acts against illegal trafficking and drug smuggling is result of increasingly efficient inter-institutional coordination and enhanced central strategic planning. This paper will give an overview of the organized drug-crime groups and networks regarding their placement and the way of acting. The general goal of the paper is to present the situation and the future perspectives of the drug crime in the Republic of Macedonia and the activities that are undertaken for its prevention. The danger of illegal drugs is huge since there is almost no reliable way of isolating it from the society. The illicit traffic of narcotic drugs and their smuggling, in all its features and characteristics (scope, dynamics, manner of execution, perfection of the methods used by the perpetrators), is a delicate matter with a high level of organization. The effective prevention of this type of crime implies an even higher degree of organized response. Key words: drug crime, criminal networks, organized crime, drugs
